Audio

No car is complete without an elegant audio system.  This is one of my favorite areas too.  I did my first custom install in a Porsche when I was 14yrs old.  Anyone can toss in some subs, but only the best can put together a good install or at least that is the way I fell about it all.  The red "PONTIAC" you see in the picture is behind the backseats.  It is backlit with 3 15" red neons.  Looks great at night!  The sub vents are also illuminated.

Pioneer 9300 CDHU, is the control center for the audio video system.  It is packed with great features for easy listening, and for competition!  Options, like adjustable line level controls, high voltage RCAs, Frequency controls for internal and external amps, great display, automatic radio stations...

In the sun visors you will find 5/6" LCD screens tucked away nicely.  It is a great location for safety and for looks.  The screen away from all sun glair and at a good viewing angle.  Also, a new 5.6" screen is going to be installed in the center consul. All the screens are Power Acoustik brand 5.6" super thin LCD screens, that have exception resolution and stability.

The Power Acoustk DVD player is hidden away in the lockable glove box.  Easily accessible and a little bit more secure.  Besides DVD the unit can read MPEG, MP3, DVD audio, CD-RW, CD-R...  There is a remote sensor on the dash so you can use the DVD remote control and mount the unit anywhere in the car.

The trunk!  Well I went for a clean and custom look, and that is what I got. All wires are hidden, and the ones coming from the amp to the trunk area are completely covered in black loom for a stock look.  The amp has 3 high speed fans to keep it cool.  The fused distribution block is mounted for easy access, and there are red neons inside the box vents for looks.  There is an anodized red fire extinguisher mounted on the floor in front of the subs that is not pictured.

The neon glow from the box vents.  Very bright and awesome looking at night.

The sound control!  I went with the b-quiet brand dampening material, and it works great!  The install is an all day project, but I managed to get 2 layers on the bottom, 3 layers on the back wall, and 1 layer on each side.  Plus, the trunk lid has several layers.  The car has almost no rattle at all, and makes for a nice sound environment.
